9 Ball Strategy

When playing 9 ball you want to always remember the basics.  Knowing your own abilities can be a very useful weapon.  The obvious goal in 9 ball is to run the balls out and pocket the 9 ball for the win. This is not always as easy as it sounds however.  My most rational strategy for 9 ball is simple.  Either shoot in the easy shot and try to get shape on the next ball. If the shot isn't easy to my standards I will play the best safety possible to my ability.  Sounds silly enough but if you always make your easy balls and also always play safety when you have a low percentage shot then you will be on the right track. Its just that simple. Most players problems come from not knowing there own abilities.  Players dont play safe and choose to go 3 rails and a very low percentage shot attempt.  In 9 ball don't fall into that trap do the right thing and you will be rewarded time and time again.  You will maintain control of the table and constantly be frustrating your opponent who will find himself without ever hardly getting a lined up shot.
