Gambling tips

Do not ever gamble if you cannot afford to lose the bet / game / set

Take all the weight you can get or give as little as possible if any.  Ask for the last three and tell them how good they are. Even if you know you are better.  Ask for the break.  You can always settle with a compromise.

Always be polite to your opponent and for the most part keep the mouth closed.

Play every game to win it and treat all opponents like they will run out if you goof around.

Play safe every time the made shot is not guaranteed.  At least leave them long and crooked. Do not attempt difficult low percentage shots unless you have a two way safety play that is part of your plan.  Try to 2 way every shot possible.

If you only relinquish control of the table when you miss an easy shot then you wont be giving up the table very often at least.  Try to play mental error free and you will notice the wins rolling in.  Scratching and missing hard shots or shots that require near impossible leaves is the downfall of most players.  In a race to 7 some players turn the table over 10 times and 8 of those times it was a harder than usual shot or a hard leave attempt or a scratch.  Had this player played safe those 8 times he would have gotten back to the table 5-6 times on the next shot if he was a below average safety player.  Leaving the table and having your opponent in line with an easy shot is the worst thing you can do in pool.  You determine your opponents next shot. Make sure it is as difficult as possible.
