No two tables are alike
You will find that some
tables play differently than others, thus your techniques for shooting
must be adjusted to many different conditions of the tables. Many
things will factor in the differences you will notice from one table
to the next. Different cloth for example. On the WPBA they use Simonis
860 cloth, which you will find a very consistent play with, but the
760 cloth plays much faster and you should make the proper adjustments
to your stroke to slow down the speed of the ball on this table, but
at the same time remembering your technique as far as rhythm goes.
Also a factor in the
condition of the table could be effect of atmospheric conditions. When
the atmosphere is humid, the table will seem a little damp and the
pockets play a little tighter. Tables should be maintained at the same
temperature consistently. Air conditioning should be kept cool enough
to not allow the humidity from various factors, such as the time of
day or the amount of people in the room that would make the
temperature rise and fall.
